I think it’s a fair statement that women in their 40s of our generation look way better - or at least look far younger - than previous generations. There are so many different/less rules now (remember when once a woman hit a certain age they would chop their hair off?), so many different options that are more accessible, affordable and acceptable. But there are a lot of things that we take for granted that are easy to do at home that help our skin, and the earlier you start the better off you will be. One of my 2024 commitments (I hate the word resolution) is to continue on my skin journey, embracing aging of course, but also making the most of what I have. Figured I would share with my favorite community the best tips/tricks that I have learned over the last little while and do the Lord’s work in keeping us all looking our finest.

Eye Cream is your BFF

If there is one product you should put money towards, at as early an age as you are comfortable, it’s eye cream. It is one of my deepest regrets as a 45 year old. As into skincare and makeup as I was, I never felt the need to pamper my eye area. It was like the last thing I thought about, and when I finally noticed those delicate lines looking….not so delicate? It was like a panic bell went off and I couldn’t slather it on fast enough. I probably could have saved myself a lot of stress had I taken the time to invest in this area earlier. I have to deal with both puffiness AND dark circles (just call me lucky). I find that this eye cream truly works wonders for dark circles. For fine lines I have used this eye cream for years and it hydrates incredibly well. And then for puffiness (jeez, it’s exhausting even listing it all), I love this serum. I massage it in at night and it really works. Then in the morning, I have been swearing by these eye masks and I am convinced I have seen a huge difference. Don’t. Skimp. On. Eyes.
