Friends - I have a certain smugness about me at the moment and it has to do with how I packed for my trip this past weekend. I have officially nailed my carry-on packing. It has only taken 46 years, but this is my 2nd trip in just over a month where I can confidently say I packed strategically, loved my outfits, and travel was hence made smoother by simply sailing on and off the plane - ok, sailing is a stretch as I had 3 children in tow, but they too had their little carry-on suitcases as well.
Let’s start with beauty because it was probably my most-asked question on IG in the DM’s. How do I pack my beauty for a getaway. Now this was a unique situation for me because normally I stick to tried-and-true staples, but I was recently SO blown away by some new products that they achieved elite-travel status immediately. I was sent some products to try by Eighth Day - a really beautiful and streamlined line created by Dr. Nakhla. The products contain bio identical molecules to those found in our own skin, so it works more synergistically and is super results driven. I noticed a tremendous brightness to my skin virtually overnight. When I receive something new, I typically phase it in start it in slowly to not mess with whatever else I’m using. When I see it working, I actually will isolate these products to see how effective they are for me before I share it with you guys. For this trip, I only packed the Eighth Day Serum and their Intensive Moisturizer. I basically isolated them instantly. Both are packed with peptide rich plasma which my skin loves. My skin looks brighter and healthier and more glowy with absolutely nothing else on it. I now want to try every other product in the line.
For makeup I went back to my oldie but goodie foundation and then these new bronzing drops. While I may have been getting my tan on, I cover face at all times, so the face needs to be bronzed with makeup and self tanner. I popped this blush in shade Petal on top of my cheekbones with this highlighter and some mascara and was good to go every night.
Now for clothes - I laid out my outfits beforehand which always helps and I kept it tight. I went for simple and easy to wear outfits with minimal fuss. Coverups were key and canvas hats are a no-brainer when mushing them in my suitcase. While I went pretty bougie on my hats, this and this are such great options without the price tag.
