One of the best parts about summer for me is the food. I love food. I love to eat. I love a dip. But also trying to stay healthy is one of those things that needs to be a priority because I can’t stand the idea of gaining weight I’ll have to lose again come fall. Don’t get me wrong - a couple of pounds here and there we can rein it in and get back to where we were, but for me it’s watching anything more than that. When the 5lbs becomes 10lbs, we are in crisis mode - because at 5’4 that looks like a heck of a lot more. So figured I would share with you some of my favorite hacks, snacks and obviously drinks (because..summer is cocktail season).
I love that Bethany Frankel has shared one of my favorite snacks as “supermodel snacks” - these seaweed wraps with chicken or tuna salad. This is my go-to when I don’t feel like making a salad but I’m starving so it ends up being lunch for me on many days, but also just a great protein packed snack if I’m feeling a hunger pang. The alternate is slathering one of those salads on these crackers - my obsession is very real. Don’t let me open a box or I will eat the whole thing. Good news is they are low carb, Whole30 approved and good for the gut.
I’m not a huge breakfast person - it’s not intentional intermittent fasting, but more subconscious. I do love my iced black cold brew. This machine was gifted to me a few months ago and I haven’t enjoyed something more in a long time. I even get the little to-go plastic cups to make it feel like I bought it at the coffee shop, but now that I’ve had this, I’m unable to drink anything else. NOTHING tastes as good. I slam about 2 of these a morning and I’m good till lunch time. On days when I do get hungry, I’ll scramble two eggs with some sriracha and wrap it in these tortillas.
We recently had Samah Dada on the podcast (listen here, it’s a good one!) and she shared a recipe I know my kids will devour for Avocado Cream Pasta and I’m hungry typing it. I’m going to make it for them next week, so stay tuned on the ‘gram for more visuals.
Now let’s talk cocktails. A friend recently introduced me to Lalo Tequila and it’s all I have been drinking (when I can find it). I prefer it to wine because typically wine gives me such a quick headache from all the sugar. I do love me my Sophie James Wine - I was gifted a membership and it’s amazing. It’s clean and no sugar, so you don’t get the same hangover you would otherwise. It makes all the difference, and summer isn’t summer without some rosé. It’s also honestly a beautiful hostess gift - the packaging is spectacular. See below.
On nights where I don’t feel like drinking but still want to have a little something, I was recently sent these - and wow. There is a microdose of Cannabis in every “cann” and it just is exactly what you need, without the alcohol. Pour it on ice and you’re good to go. I actually now want to try their version of an Aperol Spritz, which is coming out soon. Feel like it will be a fun way to keep the summer going into fall. I also just recently ordered this - it’s waiting for me at home. It feels like a Paloma without the alcohol. Sometimes all I need is the idea of a cocktail - no alcohol, and I’m good to go. These little spritz in a can are perfect for when you just are in the mood for a cocktail but don’t feel like getting a buzz.
We have to talk workouts because Molly and I love to sweat together in the summer. We are signed up for Kristin Sudeikis’ class tomorrow morning and I can’t wait. My back was in rough shape for a few weeks, so I’m excited to finally get back to exercise. I really notice a huge difference even missing a few weeks. My normal Tracy Anderson routine took a hit with my back, so I’m ready to build back my stamina. I realized I didn’t pack any workout clothes, so ran to Lululemon with the girls in Philly and went buck wild for myself for a change (these littles and their Lulu obsession is out of hand FYI).
Here’s what I bought: tank top; bra; shorts; booty shorts (I got in the fog and black); leggings. I spent more than I wanted to but I love their quality so much and I always buy in basic black or navy or brown. And their sports bra is the one that truly holds these gals in.

The most important part of my health is honestly my sleep. I have been on the road for the last week plus and forgot to bring my magnesium. It has been diabolically bad guys. I haven’t slept properly and it’s been a problem. Lesson learned. Will never leave home without it again. I love that it’s become such a centering part of my nightly routine - it’s a game changer.
Signing off now, hope everyone had a great week. TGIF!!! xx Emese
